I had a 10 gallon quarantine tank set up in my basement for the last 3-4 months. I just recently moved all the stock from it into my main tank. I hadn't taken the quarantine tank down, but have completely ignored for the last month or so - nothing of value was in it. Yesterday, I started working to get the quarantine tank going again. Salinity was up to almost 1.03 as I'd stopped replacing evap and the temp had fallen to 69 degrees.
But, lo and behold growing fat, dumb and happy in the middle of the tank was an Aiptasia, and there was hair algae on the walls of the tank.
I guess their like cockroaches, when the 'nukes fall, some things will survive.
