I have a couple of pieces of SPS that have multiple branches. Some of the branches are dead because they are underneath and don't get light because of the branches above them are blocking it. Should I cut these dead pieces off or leave them be. I'm sure the correct answer is to leave them alone because that's the nature of the beast, but I'm asking to make sure. Thanks.

Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.

I usually leave mine alone unless it really takes away from the piece...You are almost guaranteed to break off more than just what you went for which will include living pieces.
