VHO's and LPS/SPS Growth

There has been some moving around and additions, but enough corals are in the same spot for comparison.

The tank is lit by 550w VHO only. 330w 50/50's and 220w Super Actinic.

Ah, would you look at that, Bill is actually showing us his pride and joy! ::)

Saw it first hand and looks alot better. Goes to show you that when it comes to this hobby, there are so many ways to skin a cat, and your way is not the only way.

Nice setup, clean looking, healthy. Good to see.

Hey look at Champion Lighting and the VHO tank they have setup. Killer!

Nice work. Glad to see that you spend some time on yourself also.

Really nice pics.

Did you add a reflector in the lighting or are they the URI bulbs with the reflector built-in?

Good question Phil!

They are just the bulbs using their own internal reflectors.

Bill you can't be showing me this stuff, geez do I switch back to VHO, less heat etc... ;D It looks great, excellent growth.

I guess you don't want me to mention that I don't own a single fan or a chiller and my tanks run between 77 and 80 degrees! ;D

Thanks Joe, I do enjoy my tanks and I do get to spend some time with them all by myself! ;)

Interesting! Do you have a fan for the endcaps of the lights or do you not bother?

I've added another set of pics to track growth under VHO's. Approximately 9 months have passed since the last set.
