Hi All,
I've had my tank on the back burner for a few years. Haven't done a water change in about that long as well. The tank looks great no issues other than the star polyps have taken over most of my rock work. There like complete mats covering the entire surface of most rocks. The question...
Hi All,
My RODI froze last night for the first time in 3 years. I have it in my garage and its always been fine. Well this morning I woke up to find all three clear housings exploded. The water supply was off so no flood. But I do need to replace all three housings and cant seem to find just...
John. I just wanted to thank you for all of your help and great advise. The tank is making a quick recovery and almost ready to start restocking. You are an asset to our hobby. See you soon.
Could it be one of these fellows. Just lost a clown who was just fine in the evening and gone in the morning. This had happened several times to various other fish.
Hi All, I remember seeing a link showing the most common tanks pests. I cant seem to find it on the site. Does anyone have it handy. I have noticed a few different creatures the last few days. They just seemed to pop up out of know where and I have a bad feeling about them. I will continue to...
Some of my Corals have been dying off. But some doing very well. I do water changes every two weeks. Use ro water. Had the water tested and the only issue was kh was low. Been dosing with two little fish a and b. kh is fine now as are other Params but the gh is off the charts. I test for gkh...
After a great summer its time to focus on the tank more. I did manage to keep up with maintenance and bi weekly water changes but did have a few losses over the summer. I lost my Yellow tang, tomato clown and a PJ cardinal. Unfortunately they ended up buried in the rock work and I have not been...
I was having issues with my skimmer where suddenly I had to start adjusting the flow valve. I did reach out to Coralvue on RC but we never figured out the issue. Thanks to Mike over at Captivating Coral. He advised there was calcium build up in the section where the air hose goes into the...
I've had this single blasto head for over a year. It's about the size of a quarter when the lights are out. But after the lights come on it blows up about 3 times the size and gets all these bubbles around the edges. Of course most corals expend when healthy but this thing looks deformed.
I am doing a 30% water change every two weeks. Is this too much. Is there such a thing as too much when it comes to water changes? What is your opinion.
I have a nice colony of both Frogspawn and Hammer corals that I would like to frag and trade. May also be willing to cut up the War coral you see in the pic with the hammer. I am not sure how to frag these so I would rely on your experience to help with that. Let me know if interested and what...
Does anyone out there have one of these or heard any feedback about them. It looks like a really cool system just not sure if its to good to be true. Are the components reliable and of the quality you would expect at that price. I was looking at the 175 gallon model...
I recently changed my holding water pail from 2 gal to a 15 gallon pail. I have the pump at the bottom and the hose rising up 3 feet above the top of the pail and then it routs back into the sump. My problem is when the pump shuts off the water keeps siphoning through the pump. I thought the...
The trunk on this toadstool is about 5" long. Can I cut about 2" from the bottom and then re glue it to the rock? The base of the trunk is looking thin and weak. I'd like to cut that out if possible. Or should I leave well enough alone?
