Are the powder browns less aggressive compared to the powder blues? I read that somewhere but I don’t know how that can be the case since they’re in the same family just about
My new plan is this...
Starry Blenny
Blue Girdled Angel
Black Cap
Frostbite Clown
Lemonpeel Angel
Flame Hawkfish
Powder Blue or Brown Tang
Kole Tang
Thoughts?
I currently have a 70 Gallon with these fish in it...

I’m planing on setting up a 180 in my new house. My stocking list will be to add those fish in that order and then add these in this order...
Flame Hawkfish
Purple...
I think I found someone to do it. His name is Mike from East Coast Aquarium Designs. Looks like I’ll go with a custom 180 low iron glass build from Custom Aquariums.com
Anyone here have one their tanks? If so how do you like it?
Sounds great Diana!
Have you had any work done from Aqua Creations? When I Google it they are one of the ones that come up
Also, do they do only custom tanks or would they do an install on a Red Sea?
I had priced out a 70 gallon custom tank once (not from them) and the tank alone was over $3000
Looking for suggestions for a vendor that could install a FOWLR Red Sea XXL 750 in the home my wife and I are about to buy
The tank would be going on the 1st floor of the home but I would like the sump to be located in the basement below it on a stand with supports underneath the tank
I will...
1. Stop using carbon immediately. Some studies say it causes HLLE
2. Feed LRS herbivore formula soaked with Selcon and a garlic supplement. I use Brightwell Aquatics Garlic Power
I’m sure my nutrient levels are pretty high. My nitrates hover around 20ppm. Which isn’t out of the norm for a tank with softies. Should I keep the lights more or less intense at that point?
I’ve also had a problem with the blue channel on the light on the right. It doesn’t go anywhere past 10 for intensity. That’s why I’m only running it at 10. I’ve contacted AI several times about it and they just blow me off. Really pisses me off since I’ve spent so much money on these lights
I was running all of the blues at 80% and the white at 20% and I bleached a Colt coral pretty bad in a day that’s why I turned the lights down. I’m reluctant to turn them up because I don’t want to melt anything else. That’s why I have them so low and on a month acclimation period as well. Even...
Is anyone doing soft corals and mushrooms with a Hydra26?
My tank is 70 gallons. The light is 6” from the water because of my canopy. The tank is 24” deep
My current settings are (because I burned up a Colt Coral at higher ones)
UV - 10
Violet - 20
DB - 60 to 70
Blue - 10
Green - 5
Red -10...
From what you’re saying and what I’ve read I agree that they fall off quicker
The thing I have going for me is that I can see how hard the output is going into the tank so I’ll just keep adjusting it by eye since none of this other stuff has any scientific backing really
Yeah, those are all the upsides but I want to see what the reliability is like. It wasn’t too expensive but the reviews I’ve been reading about how long they last are mixed
