Put the bottom on last night. Tonight will be trimming, and filler up for the leak test. If everything goes as planned, Ed will have it Sunday. Sounds like it's going to a good home.

I use the acetone to clean the joint first before I bond it. I think melting of the acrylic would only be a problem if the acetone couldn't evaporate, like in a container. Then it would dissolve the acrylic.

looks good, u should try a rail set up over the frag
tank to cut down on the lights, i think it would work
great. are those 250w over the frag tank?
 
At this time, I'll stick with the 4 / 250w lights... knowing my luck the rail wouldn't work right for me :-(
