My new 40 breeder

I decided to economize and move down to a 40 using the same equipment off my 180. Added was a tek 6 bulb fixture and a closed loop to replace power heads. I added two on a controller anyway just for some extra flow. Here's some pics

Today I finished the tank project and got my gfo reactor hooked up and all is looking good. The acans, dendro and sun polyps were fed a nice little meal of fresh clam and mysis do everyone is very happy.
My lion fish really liked the few pieces of clam I gave it along with the bottomless pit of a stomach of the angler.
I'm really glad I downsized.

Tmoro the 180 is getting picked up and after dropping my mom off at thephilly airport, were going frag shopping for a few high end sps and a bluespot jaw if we find a nice one.
The tank is doing great and recently added a superman chalice and some stylo. Params are perfect and I'm really enjoying being able to watch it more than work on it. I think the only thing it needs is a pair of mp40's. They are coming soon.

Been real busy with work but the tank is doing well. I've got a cyano outbreak on my sand but things got disturbed last week when a phead fell. I'm having great sps growth and they look great.
My clowns after a year decided to move into one of my nems so I'm real happy about that

Lol, I joked with Beth once about that....I'm very lucky I have quick reflexes, lmao.
Oh, by the way, remember the monkey u guys gave Madison? It's still her favorite comfort toy. It goes everywhere with her. Check out how big she got. She's 1 1/2!

Man that tank looks great very nice.
I have a couple questions about your plumbing if you don't mind.
It looks like you have two drains maybe one. On the left looks like you have a street elbow if I'm right does that give you enough surface skimming
The reason I ask is because I'm setting up my tank and I have two 1-1/2in bulk heads drilled at the top in the back and I didn't want to put an overflow box on I like what you did with the street elbow can I do that or do I need an over flow box
I am also thinking two 3/4 returns for water turn over do you think this will work thanks.

Glad to hear she still enjoys it. She is getting big, no wonder you had to downgrade.

I have great surface skimming, lol at least I think I do. There is only 1 line that feeds the sump and it seems to be working well. I'm using a quiet one pump for return and with the head loss I'm getting about 500gal per hour. My return is a 3/4 with a y nozzle that provides lots of surface agitation, I've never seen any part of the surface with an "oil slick". I The other returns on each side are a closed loop that draws from the middle back of the tank. hope this helps
