When I build my next canopy, I will use that really thin Lexan from HD and screw an 8" strip around the inside bottom nearest the water with a bead of silicone along the bottom, top and corners.
I've always used Kilz, but I just notice my old canopy from my 120 is flaking the Kilz paint chips (after 3 years granted) into my 90 g holding tank and I think it's contributing to issues I am currently having with SPS. The flaking is only occurring along that bottom few inches that are nearest the water.
