That’s great to know. Very close by. I’ve been using lfs in the area and one local reefer. Any advice is appreciated. Tank has been up and running for 6 months now so I’m starting slow. Want to add a Monti soon. Give that a shot
REEFCO in East Boundbrook is great. 100% marine/coral store. He's got a great selection of monti and basically everything else. He's only open by appointment during week and 11am-5pm Sat/Sun but WELL worth it.

I like the guys at Reefco Brian is very nice. I got my apex setup from them and some coral and fish as well. They are definitely my go to.

Hi guys. just joined. i'll keep this short. i've been involved in the aquarium hobby since my childhood days, and i'm now 67. i have had fresh water oscars, seahorses back in the 60's, an 180 gallon reef tank mixed that i have since donated to a local zoo. currently i'm into seahorses with a 46 gallon bowfront, and a small 15 gallon vertical for the nemos when the nieces and nephews come a calling. i have a complete breeding system i built for raising fry. i did jellies for a time but it turned into a killing field, and that is something i just won't do so i shut it down.

i actually came to you folks (i'm in pa but down at the shore at ocean casino and resort every weekend) in searching out plans for a saltwater mixing station and looking for a source for a couple of 40-50 gallon 18 inch diameter water storage containers locally. i don't mind paying for quality stuff in our hobby. i do mind paying hundreds more for shipping than the items cost. any help there would be appreciated.

i joined as a full paying member so i am supporting the group.

that should do it for intros.

Welcome to the NJRC. @ghenkel 50 gallon 18” is a tuff one. I have seen them but can be expensive. But they are out there. Are you planning on a reef tank or just continuing to work with your horses. There are a growing number of horse keepers as well on this site. One even collects ponies off the jersey shore. You should definitely make a tale of the tank. And post pictures

both tanks are a modified reef setup. islands of live rock, sump, protein skimmer, chiller, refugium,. i want to increase frequency of water changes, the purpose of building the mixing station. i'm to old and frail to schlep 5 gallon buckets anymore.

Welcome to NJRC Gary!

There used to be a shipping loophole with tractor supply site but I think they already fixed that. If there is a store near you maybe you can order through them?

Hello everyone,just joined.

I'm Rob,22yrs old and live in Marlboro nj and been in the fish keeping hobby since I was around 9. Had freshwater and then got into saltwater about 11 years ago and had to take down my tank for a move. Just got back into the hobby a few months ago. I also have reptiles a few leopard geckos and a crested gecko and a freshwater tank. Hope to learn allot more now that fully committed and know allot more then I did when I had my old SW tank. I'm starting off with a Innovative Marine 14gallon peninsula tank with a AI prime 16hd light. So far I have 2 clownfish, cleaner shrimp, 2 zoa frags, favia, mushroom and a Aussie torch colony. So happy to be back in the hobby and put more effort in with testing and tinkering with my tank.

welcome Rob. Glad you caught The Reefer Flu. It’s a great hobby with sooooo many ways of doing it. None of them wrong. Try to make it to get together and please make a tale of your tank and post lots of pictures.
