Looking for ID help. Please and thank you.

This popped up out of no where. I haven’t had an anemone in years. Nothing was added and the tank covering from some neglect during Covid. The only change was the loss of a dwarf angel that I had for years. Maybe this was someth8ng that never got out of a crevice while the angel was harassing...

Lighting crisis - looking for an inexpensive LED options in a time/ budget crunch

I have a DIY LED rig that is trying to tell me to put it out to pasture. Only 1 of the 4 drivers is currently working (blues, green/red, and moon all bit it). A mix of mostly warm and a couple cool whites seem to be enough to keep what I have in there alive but I need a longer term solution. As...

WTH happened to my MP40 spare wetside

I keep (kept, I guess now) a spare wetside for my MP40. It’s a nonQD (the dry side bearing went and I failed in my attempt to repair so I got a spare out of it). Just swapped this one out about a month ago. Wish I had been there to hear what this small explosion must have sounded like.

    Is a MP40wQD compatible with an older non-ES MP40w?

Will my new MP40wQD be compatible with my older non-ES MP40w for wireless coordination? Also I have a newer (3 years old) wet side from the MP40 I had to replace - can I use that wet side as a spare when I'm cleaning - on the new QD? The non ES is quiet and runs great and they're in a 90 so 2...

I think my MP40 dry-side bearings are shot...

Is there any way to repair a dry-side unit if the bearings are shot? After my latest wet side cleaning the bearing rattle got quite bad. I clean my wet sides one at a time overnight in a vinegar bath. Always leaving flow on the right side so the wet sides rotate with each cleaning. (Take off...

    Bubble Magus NAC6

Looking to rehome a NAC6. It hasn't run in several years so I'd assume it's just a body. The atman wasn't used very long - it was replaced just before I upgraded - if I can find the original atman you can have that too - may have a good impeller or something useful. $50

    Black worm die off

I had about half a pound of black worms in my fridge and all but about an ounce was dead when I went to retrieve them. I generally feed them to the tank every other day. Before I do that I rinse them thoroughly with tap water. I try to rinse until the water I drain off looks clean/clear. I will...

    Free cracked 40b

My cracked sump is up for grabs - front glass (or back, but a long piece) is spent. If anyone would like it LMK as soon as you can. You won't need to get it right away but if anyone can use the frames, bottom glass etc. I'll keep it for you, otherwise if no one needs it I (translation, my wife)...

    WTB 40b Aqueon/AGA

I'm looking for an Aqueon or AGA 40 breeder. My sump blew out a panel and all the locals stopped selling Aqueon. Top choice and others have slightly different dimensions so it needs to be AGA of Aqueon. Thanks!

    Glass shop in South Jersey

Anyone know of any glass shops in the Burlington County Area? I need to get some baffles to replace my sump and I guess I won't use acrylic in glass if I can avoid it. One blown up sump in the lifespan of this hobby is enough :)

    Plumbing a remote accessory tank

Has anyone tried plumbing 2 tanks together without relying on gravity to feed the return? Currently my tank is in the basement and my sump is gravity fed in the stand. I have a remote closet about 10-12' away that will hold water making, ATO reservoir and QT setup. I have room for a frag tank...

    Gold Stripe Maroon Clown

Any interest in a beautiful GSMC? She's a big girl. I know they are ok in smaller tanks but for the foreseeable future I'll be running a 90. She's been in a stock tank for about 4 months so I'm afraid she's gotten used to a larger spot and may struggle going back to the smaller 90. I'd sell her...

    Live rock... repair?

I found a 5 gallon bucket of rock that came out of my tank before my move. It's hard to guess how much is there -- maybe 40-50 lbs. it's been in the bucket - outside since Labor Day. The water was filled to the top of an aqua-vitro bucket so it has a tight fitting lid. I discovered it this...

"Installing" live sand and kick starting a cycle

I've never started with live sand before and I had a question or two about setup. Currently I have all my livestock in a stock tank. I estimate that there's 80-100 gallons in there. Maybe on the lower end with rock displacement. My tank is plumbed and filled with new saltwater. If course it's...

    Zip’s 90 – ver.2.0

I’ve decided it’s time to put my other tale of the tank to rest since it referenced a sunroom that is no longer relevant, so this is, as it is titled, Zip’s 90 – ver.2.0 For the purposes of setup I’m focusing on the changes and I’ll fill in with the carry over stuff as I bring it on line. So...

Old salt water and sump pumps

Does anyone pump their used water change water into a sump pump. Not looking to see if you think it's allowed but if it will damage the pump. I assume like the bilge pump on a boat in salt water or the pumps of various kinds in our tanks any decent sump pump can handle it fine but I was curios...

How much damage can a dying brittle star cause?

I'm holding all my livestock in a 110g stock tank - still trying to get things set up after we moved last month. I noticed about 2 weeks ago that my brittle star was in bad shape. It had a large chunk missing from the body and the rest is very sunken-in. I thought it was dead but when I went to...

    New sump and plumbing setup

I'm getting ready to setup my sump and plumbing now that the move is behind me. I want to do this ASAP b/c the stock tank isn't a great long term solution. I'd like to change a few things since I have it all broken down anyway. Current setup was all hard PVC plumbing 1" drain split 75% to...
