Anecdotal (the lights)
I used to have my lights on for only 6-7 hours. I now have them on for about 10-12 and still no algae blooms of any kind. NItrates are holding steady. The Candy Canes are loving it as are my hammers. One of the heads are starting to split. I had a slight Diatom outbreak...
Yeah just noticed that the Coraline a had on the rocks are actually holding steady. I think I reached my maintenance dosing at 1.6 ml didn't take long :P Which is a good thing because I think the Frogspawns may have been slightly affected in that they don't fully extend and the tentacle ends...
Oh no, I know that part (Weaning off) what I meant is that I anticipate a change in my nitrates to 0 in about 4 weeks or so, by then I can then start my maintenance dosing. Also I need to specify, the Coraline loss is on the glass. My rocks still have some, and so does the my sandbed edges...
Geez, I don't know. :P Just going by what's on the list. I'm sure I won't make it to 16 weeks gradually increasing the doses. I'm hoping to reach 0 nitrates in about 4 more weeks or so. It's all up to my tank I guess. Oh, and whatever coraline algae I had? Gone.
Can't help you with the Photometer, but I can report my results of a week with the Vodka.
Nearly 90% of the B/G hairy algae is gone. I had Bryopsis, and that is gone too.
I still have some film algae forming on the glass but now it takes nearly 4 days for it to become a distraction. I am...
I noticed today that my froggy released a tip, it lands right into my Kenya tree, and almost immediately it closes up. I quickly picked it up (tree) and dislodged the now shriveled "tip/ball" what have you.
Is this how they attack? I always thought that they extend some sweepers. This is the...
29 cube, so it's nothing big. I'm thinking about a flow rate of 5 gal an hour so. I have the bioballs that have been sitting dormant ever since I went with the SR3 in chamber 2.So I'm thinking about using that instead of rock. As for post Skimmer intake/return without sacrificing flow as the...
Or in my case transforming my L/F 150 phosban reactor into one. I guess the questions are;
1. Is the 150 big enough
2. Should I have the return line go to the Skimmer?
For some reason I think mine are in decline. They barely pulse under a low flow area, and they've taken a somewhat darker appearance at the ends.
*Grumble grumble*
Also after a water change my Tequila Sunrise zoos all closed up and then melted away after about 4 days.
The Open Brain is doing...
Thanks. Yeah I can't drill nor move the unit and stand. Whelp guess I'll save that money for my LED kit then.
As for there not being a maxi-jet 1800 ultility pump (does adding that part make a difference?) my Biocube and wallet begs to differ :P
I know what a sump is, I kinda have a grasp of what its benefits are, but how do I make one? I have an eye on a 30 gal oceanic sump being sold by a member here so let's use that as a base. I have phobsan reactor already hooked to my cube with a dedicated pump (which is in Chamber 1) I also have...
good for you. I'm looking to keep my canopy, but convert to an LED solution. Thus far it's proving to be a very expensive proposition. Nearly doubling the cost of what I paid for my cube with stand new. DIY is out of the question as I'm not that handy.
Oh lord THIS!
I'm not handy with DIY projects due to time constraints. But I so much want to turn my biocube into a LED solution, but not having to pay nearly double of what I paid for my Cube.
