It’s a small hair line leak. I don’t really want to mess with this today.
so I might just put a bucket and deal with it tomorrow.
I am not sure yet. I can’t confirm where the water is coming from.

I just tape some napkins to the PVC to see if I can find the leak

Looks like it’s leaking from the bulk head of the zoo med frag tank. I will remove that frag tank and see what I. Can do

After I looked more into it. I believe I found the culprit. The bulk head on the zoo med frag tank.

I cut the return into the tank And drained the water. Let’s see if the water stops leaking. If it does then I will remove this tank and replace it with a different frag tank.

I am not 100% sure yet. Let’s see if it continues to leak. I will check later.
I have to move that tank anyways.

I think the tank is fine. I just need to move it to another location and add a overflow.
instead of the bulkhead that I am using.

this is why I always put tanks in basement.
It wasn’t a lot of water and I got an alert from apex right away.

I just spill all over my wife’s hardwood floor in living room,, I get yelled at a lot
I remember one night bout 10.30 I was gonna do quick 10gal WC,, Well about halfway through I accidentally kicked over a whole bucket of dirty old tank water and it was flowing through the living room under the couches etc. etc. I was freaking out trying to find towels sheets blankets anything that I thought would suck water up and it took me until about 1:30 in the morning to completely clean the living room with the whole time praying she wasn’t going to come walking down the stairs ,,well I got lucky and I got away with it and then I told her about it two days later I said G we could laugh about it now

Ok so I woke up this morning ready to do some work on the tank.
i was able to fix the leaky bulkhead.
I filled the tank back up and added it to the system. Let’s see if it continues to leak.

hopefully this will take care of the problem.

Super happy it was a bulkhead and not something more critical like a seam or crack. Real glad it worked out.

Yeah thank god. I have to say the glass on the zoomed frag tank is very fragile. The glass is paper thin.
it works for my application but I don’t think I would trust it in a living room.

I am using the apex water detection pads.
They are a life saver and just saved my butt.

if you don’t have an apex you can get one of these and install them in your home.

I have those exact Govee alarms :)

If you spend a little more and get the wi-fi
Ones that’s even better.

but for $10 you can have something alert you if water spills

Didn't realize those weren't the wireless. But yes, I have the wireless. Thankfully haven't had the need for them to aleart me yet, but I did test to to make sure it worked. Give you a nice piece of mind and, like you said, can really save your ass!
