I also work at one of those stores everyday I look and laugh at these systems. Especially since I work the plumbing department. I beleve the filters only go down to 5 microns.

It looks like if it isn't level it would be leaning towards the front of the tank. Which I would have to shim the front. And the tank is going to be on (unfortunately) carpet in the living room.

I haven't moved the tank yet. I'm just eyeing it up, and trying to anticipate any problems I might run into.

What is the best way to level a tank on a floor that's not level ?

I'm moving. My new land lord agreed to let me keep my tank. However only if I get renters insurance. So is a flood from a fish tank covered under renters insurance? Or do I need a separate policy just for the tank? Any info would be appreciated.

Can't my pump would run dry before the ATO turned on. It's as low as I can place it. And if it over fills my skimmer overflows. Doh!! It's like one big chain reaction one thing turns into another

Cool thanks guys. I'm going to do the PVC pipe thing. The problem with running the tube into my overflow is that it takes so many seconds for the water to travel into the sump were my sensor is. So by the time the water fills the sump up to the sensor there is already more water than needed...

My pump also won't break syphon when first placed in water. After the first top off pinch the hose untill the water stops coming out. After that you should be fine. I have to do this when ever I first fill my 5g bucket with new ro/di. After the first top off I stop the syphon by pinching the...
