    Good! I should be ok then the hood will be about 12" tall from the top edge of the tank and the water is about 1-2" below the edge.

    I getting ready to start building my new hood. I'm going to use 175W MH on a 54g corner. I was wondering how you measure the light height. Is it from the bulb or from the bottom of the reflector/housing. TIA Jason
