I had this happen to one of my zo rocks. I lifted it out and used tweezers to pick the sponge out from in-between the polyps. Tedious but effective. The polyps are strongly attached compared to the sponge. I was left with long stalked polyps in the end. ;-) Do be careful of platy toxins (sp?)...

Like feeding crickets to reptiles I would suggest that you gut load the brine shrimp. Feed them some type of invert/fish food then feed the brine to the fish.
