i had this problem with my 55 when i first set it up. cyano took over and i couldnt figure out why. and i was using a 260watt satilite CF lighting system. all i did was add a few pouches of phosX in the ehime filter i was using to fiter it, and did water changes almost every day. no to change...
well my new and last additions to this tank at least were a frogspawn i bought last night. it has purple tenticles with pink tips and neon green mouth. and i bought a handful of chaeto which i stuffed behind my rock until i build my fuge this weekend.

there was actually a fair amount of brown algea on the 2 yellowish brownish rocks that i bought, the last 2 added, and he tends to pick at that alot. otherwise i target feed him the sheets of brown marine algea. ill tear a little piece off and hell pick at it. or when i feed the damsel, any food...
yes he is and actually when he was fragged for me, well i should say picked up, we didnt know he was on a empty snail shell, i thought it was really neat and it makes placing him, unlike the other 4 i have, very easy.
i am 100% hooked now. and i guess you can say the preverbial double edge sword is that i have about 5 empty tanks ranging from 10 to 55 gal. Â ;D

thats very true, i have it basically set up in my mind how im going to do it and im starting to piece it together. im going to build the refug this weekend and have it all connected and ready for water.
