i had this problem with my 55 when i first set it up. cyano took over and i couldnt figure out why. and i was using a 260watt satilite CF lighting system. all i did was add a few pouches of phosX in the ehime filter i was using to fiter it, and did water changes almost every day. no to change...

well my new and last additions to this tank at least were a frogspawn i bought last night. it has purple tenticles with pink tips and neon green mouth. and i bought a handful of chaeto which i stuffed behind my rock until i build my fuge this weekend.

well, i posted on her awhile ago the progress of my tank from start, to adding rock. now its time to show the pictures of the new corals i recently picked up. as always, comments, questions and critisisum(sp?) is always welcome....

the 10 is a temporary home, thats why i bought the smallest one i can find. im setting up a 55, 20l, 30 and possibly a 45 in the for-seeable future.

there was actually a fair amount of brown algea on the 2 yellowish brownish rocks that i bought, the last 2 added, and he tends to pick at that alot. otherwise i target feed him the sheets of brown marine algea. ill tear a little piece off and hell pick at it. or when i feed the damsel, any food...

yes he is and actually when he was fragged for me, well i should say picked up, we didnt know he was on a empty snail shell, i thought it was really neat and it makes placing him, unlike the other 4 i have, very easy.

i am 100% hooked now. and i guess you can say the preverbial double edge sword is that i have about 5 empty tanks ranging from 10 to 55 gal.  ;D the better part is i just got my girlfriend into it, now she wants to set up our 55 while i set the rest of my nanos up, so i will be meticulously...

after reading around and gathering information, i ventured forward and set up my 10g as my first salt water tank. the inhabitants as of now are... 1 yellow tail damsel 1 lawnmower blenny, a/k/a sailfin blenny 2 turbo snails 2 nassarius snails 1 blue legged hermit crab random feather dusters...

thats very true, i have it basically set up in my mind how im going to do it and im starting to piece it together. im going to build the refug this weekend and have it all connected and ready for water.

thats what i wanted to do, was have the whole tank set up with corals and a good cleaning crew before adding the fish.

thanks for the response, its not the leopard wrasse, its the blue star leopard wrasse, or divided wrasse, stays smaller, about 6 inches max. so no hermits and do turbo snails, ill have my system set up probably a few months before fish get added. also, is it true you h ave to add fish before...
