Hey everyone. Would you all be interested in either a July or an August meeting? I can check to see if we are able to use the space in the school I recently posted about. I need some feedback on what month works best for everyone.

would love to make it, its a hike for me so don't want to weight the vote for something i'm probably a 50% shot at making at best. august would probably be best for me though, i'm away the second half of july.

feels like the club is building some momentum, which is awesome.

I elected to do a little more "Due Diligence" on this gathering. And, it looks to me like this will be at a newer venue in Hackensack. Am I right? I'm more North NJ than South NJ, so I have no real problems attending. But, I'm approaching the end of my allegiance with our salt water hobby. (Fifty+ years is quite enough!). I sure would like to attend a large NJRC membership meeting where I could unload at least half of my hardware accumulation relatively cheaply for our buyers.

Any thoughts? Are there any other reasonable venues on the horizon? TIA...

Hi Mark,

I'm still in. I received a gorgeous 4-to-5" Male Australian Scott's fairy wrasse today from NYAquatic. (For a mere $220 plus $27 shipping.)

But if my problems continue, I won't be here much longer. During the last two consecutive heat waves, I lost one of my two central air units (which was admittedly 25 years old) and I found myself actually dropping $20 daily in Shop Rite bags of ice to float in my systems. Two weeks into the heat, my $1000 chiller finally arrived. Worked great. But, it took an extra week to cross the country from Arizona, and I lost the big Moorish Idol that I'd had for the past 15 months, and a few smaller fish.

If that's not enough, a senior citizen's brain fart caused me to copy an incorrect dosing formula from https://www.reeftronics.net/ into my Apex's dosing logic. My Hanna Alkalinity Checker maxed out & failed at 300 CaCO3 ppm Hanna for a few days, before I noticed the problem.

I wish you better results,
Bob

Sorry to hear that Bob. I have ice packs from the Dollar store in my freezer which I can put in zip lock bags and float in the tank or sump if power is out. My nem tank on the porch is a concern as it gets very hot and I have a fan blowing on it constantly. So far so good. Wish you the best.
