Mp10 wet side

I can't vouch for the MP10, but I've started to replace my MP40 wetsides with the Jebao DMP40 wetsides....fits and works perfectly. As far as I'm concerned, the wetsides from Ecotech are poorly designed and constructed.

That’s wild, I know there are countless cases of the wet sides cracking, then rusting and swelling. I wonder if it has anything to do with how people clean them in Citrix acid baths. All I ever owned was ecotech powerheads and never had it happen to one. Had the same mp10 for 8 years.

You have the luck of the Irish.....8 years with the same wetside! I have quite a few vortechs.....I think eight MP40's (only five being used now).....and I think four or five MP10's. I have but one original MP40 dryside, and that's because it's rarely used. I've had one wetside that only lasted about one and half years before the magnet swelled. IT's POOR DESIGN AND MATERIAL USE and has nothing to do with what you clean them in. I'm the one who wrote that article on R2R about the potential of acetic acid being the cause of acid migrating through the plastic because it's a "neutral" acid. I'm now convinced that that information is bunk. That one wetside above that only lasted a year and a half was never cleaned in any acid. And to top it off, I think they've cheapen the materials they are using, causing the wetside to crap out even earlier.....maybe that's why yours has lasted so long.

Do you think the jebao wet side is done with better quality??

Too early to say, but I'd be happy with equal quality. I purchased two Jebao's last October/November and they have run flawlessly thus far. This was before the Trump tax and I could buy three Jebao wetsides for the price of one Ecotech wetside and have money left over. I haven't looked at what the Trump tax does to the price, but even so, if they last the same, I'm still ahead of the game. Seeing the Ecotech MP40 price rising, rising, rising, with the last rise of 75 to 91 smackers, that was the last straw for me.
