This morning, I went for my beach walk and I went down the steep stairs which were covered in snow for most of the winter. It is a strenuous climb but no problem for real Men.

I found a small issue at the bottom so we need a chain saw to fix it.
This log is about 20' long and a foot thick

I just went to feed my Waspfish's an earthworm and when I opened my earthworm container, I see I have way more than I started with.

They are spawning, and I have many babies, which are a great size for my fish. About 3 times larger than an adult whiteworm.

I have them in potting soil and feed banana skins. :D

I think of fish food like I think of my family food. The best food has one ingredient. For fish it would be something like fish, clam, plankton, eggs etc. If you "God Forbid" have any dry foods on hand, look at the ingredients and ask yourself if you would eat that. I am holding a can of "Premium" pellets now.
(I use it to feed my worms)

57 ingredients. Many of which do not resemble any type of food but are chemicals that I can't pronounce.
4 or 5 preservatives, 2 or 3 artificial colors. Anti-clumping chemicals, etc.

If you are attempting to keep an animal healthy why would you use that? The second ingredient is flour. Flour is used because it is practically free, has no nutritional value and never goes bad. It also has "red iron oxide" for color. That's rust.

All the added vitamins are artificial vitamins that were removed before processing so they can make the stuff last forever without refrigeration.

This is a huge problem in this hobby, but many people are lazy and figure this stuff is "good enough". It isn't, and the big reason for disease forums.

For my family, I only serve "real" food. The US spends more on medications and has the sickest, fattest, and out-of-shape people of any country, and they have almost the shortest lifespan. Just go to Disney World and look at the shape of many of the people. Why do you think that is?

It's because Americans are wealthier than most countries and that makes us lazy. We no longer have to grow our own food or hunt for it, so we can live on Hostess Twinkies, Hot dogs, and fast food, which is very tasty and cheap.

Most people don't know that the white flour, which is in almost everything is loaded with poison.

You can research this all over the internet. The only people who say it is safe are the chemical company that makes the stuff.
In most European countries, it is banned. But we can freely use it on consumer plants. We get our wheat from Italy in a place that doesn't use any chemicals.

Olive oil is another one. As a Sicilian we use an enormous amount of olive oil. I even drink some every night.
75% of the olive oil in the US isn't even olive oil. Some of it is partially olive oil, but the rest is cheap vegetable oil, which will do nothing for your health. Our olive oil can't be sold in Europe.

You can search for the best olive oils. Oddly, Costco olive oil (Kirkland) is one of the best and is certified 100% real olive oil. The rest of them come from many different countries and it is difficult or impossible to know what they make it out of.

I also use a lot of honey. Honey is worse than olive oil when it comes to origin. It is estimated that 90% of honey is doctored with other things that do not come from bees. We get our honey from beekeepers here on Long Island. It's expensive but bees don't work for minimum wage. :eek2:

Much of our produce this time of the year comes from Mexico. Never in my house. I have been all through Mexico and recently took a class on produce from there. Mexico is an ancient lake bed and no water drains through it so they can't just put the human waste in the ground in septic systems like many of us do here because it would not sink into the ground. So it travels in open trenches down the mountain to the farms where it is used as fertilizer. Thats "Human Waste". If that doesn't bother you, then eat Mexican produce.

I would rather not, check please. Many Asian countries use Human Waste to fertilize the waters where they farm raise tilapia, shrimp, and catfish which we also don't buy. Thats why shrimp from Vietnam are 3 or $4.00 a pound while American Gulf Shrimp are $15.00 a pound.

What we eat determines a large part of our health. I myself exercise every day by walking up and down 17 flights of stairs then walking 2 miles. I am the exact same weight as I was when I got married 52 years ago.

I lost 35lbs from walking and learning about healthy food. My fish also learned this fact so they stay healthy.

A couple of weeks ago I had a stress test. After I finished, I asked the nurse if I did OK. She said No. She said I didn't do OK, I did amazing, which made me feel really good. She also said that almost no one's heart rate returns to normal within a minute, so she could tell I had exercised. And I'm 77 years old.

My blood pressure is perfect as is my heart rate. (Of course, I still could croak today)

I realize most people don't care about any of this because you are young. I used to be the same way and when I moved here 8 years ago I was heavier than I have ever been. My wife is severely handicapped with MS, and I need to be in good shape to take care of her and pick her up when she falls. I was having trouble doing that, so I decided to do something about it.

NJ has become "famous" for our "round up" corn,it's not affected by the glosphate when sprayed for weeds. Pretty scary when you think about it..

I also make my wife what she calls "Jumping Juice". It's basically fresh beets, carrots and ginger that I put in a juicer. Then I get a large bag of frozen berries. Blueberries, blackberries, strawberries etc. along with turmeric and put them in a blender with unsweetened tart cherry juice and then strain it into the rest of the juice.

She has a glass of it every morning and if she forges, she is in intense pain at night. I make it in large batches and freeze it in plastic bottles until needed.

The stuff works wonders. I got the recipe from Montel Williams who also has MS :)

Yesterday my wife made a huge dinner of corned beef and cabbage for Saint Patrick's day which is on Tuesday.

Then a friend of ours who owns a large Italian/Polish restaurant invited us there on Tuesday for a St. Pats dinner. All expenses paid so how could we refuse?

So we ate the Corned Beef yesterday.

She is a real Sweetheart to do this for us. We have some really great friends here and we feel blessed for it.

We rarely eat this stuff, only on St. Pats day because except for the cabbage, it isn't really all that healthy. :eek2:

OOOOohhhhh NNoooo. I just came into my workshop/man cave and looked at my tank. It was all cloudy so I couldn't see 2" into it and there were spots on everything. :eek2:

I didn't know what to do.

Then I realized my reading glasses fogged up when I came inside, so I cleaned them and all is well. :D

My granddaughter, on the right here, just went to Taiwan with her school. She is studying Mandarin. I tried to explain to her that it would be much cheaper if she just went to a Chinese restaurant.

I originally had 3 of these Waspfish. About a year ago I lost track of one of them and don't know what happened to him. Then abut 6 months ago, another one disappeared and I never saw him leaving only one.

This morning I went into my Mancave and the tank was still dark. I got my flashlight to look in and see what the fish were doing.

Two Waspfish were sitting near the front just smiling at me. ne may have been in a cave in the back with eggs or maybe she was doing the macarena. I don't know.

So I figured they hunt at night and I got my gallon f soil that contains earthworms.
Last week I fed the earthworms some banana peels so they were all at the bottom and I had to dump the thing into another bucket to get them.

The worms are having a lot of fun because there are way more worms in there than I put there. And many small ones like an inch or smaller. Perfect waspfish food. I got one and quickly cut it in half. Half for each fish.

Now that all the other fish were sleeping, I figured it was the perfect time to feed them because my fish, especially my filefish will eat the worms as soon as they go in the water.

So I took one of my long basters and dropped a wriggling worm right under the nose of each fish..........Nothing. They just sat there looking at me and never touched the worms.

These fish are the weirdest fish and I can never tell when they want to eat but when they do, they will jump on anything.

Now I know not to waste my time trying to feed them at night.

I know, lousy picture but I took it in the dark with a flash. Those two red blobs are Waspfish

This is a better, daytime picture from before he disappeared

She is fine today Diana. Thank God. She is watching "Mass" now on TV. We do go to church, but only a few times a year and she likes to go so now it is mostly on TV.

I myself am not much of a church guy, even though I am a believer, just am not too much into the church. I kind of do my own thing.
