wow good thing for breakers. just point the powerheads so the break the surface a little since a film will probably develop on the surface and you should be ok. you can also put in an air stone if you got one to keep the Oxygen in the water since you have no circulation pump.
my brother used the Kick ICH and he said it worked. used it in the main tank with no issues to corals.
My personal opinion is that i observe the fish in the store, if it looks sick or has spots i stay away. i also keep two sharknose gobies, cleaner wrasse and had a pair of skunk cleaners +...
I use the Lignite from bulk reef supply but i think i might get the pellets or the ROX carbon from them next time. the lignite is nice and does a great job on such a large system but it's small size makes it a PITA to clean/fill
probably worth the couple bucks they cost. any possiblity someone dropped or added something you didnt see? had any recent foam on the surface of the water?
hehe i did that too so dont feel bad. how about cutting out one of the sides and putting some clips or something so you can take it off and move the sump in/out. that would be the best solution since you really should have as big as a sump as you need not what you can fit in the doors..

the purple sea whip seems to love it and is actually growing, the rest of the acros seems to enjoy it as well. i usually dose with some Reef Chili from Bulk Reef Supply and turn the skimmer off/remove filter sock to let it circulate.
shhh !lol you know those BB guys are sensitive..
i'm starting to use brightwell stuff like phyto, reefsnow and so far it's been good. as i run out of supplements i may do a total switchover.
cover up the sump too even if it's inside the stand. i seem to remember a thread somewhere that a guy forgot to and killed his whole tank. Not from paint though but a bug bomb... Water based latex shouldnt be bad on smell though as Codfather said.
^ i see what you did there... Foster/smith is the way to go with sand or Marco rocks. Dont get the OOLite! trust me it is wayyy to fine and any sand sifting fish or burrowing fish will throw clouds into the water column
Re: Ricwilli's 210 build
rigid is better for a pressure application since they are glued. flex eliminates the sharp turns a 90 gives witch makes less restriction and more flow but it uses barb connections with pipe clamps. make sure you use the pressure rated Schd 40 and not the "street" elbows...
called popeye. with excellent water quality and vitamin/garlic supplement the fish has the chance to get over it without medicine. other than that you would have to catch and treat in a hospital tank.
ea thats the one Nick. no i dont have anything in there.. some stomatella snails had made it to the sump before but other than that i just suck it out and into the filter sock then off to the washer.
Terri and Ant did a great job putting nori in the tank and nubsy did all the rest haha.. he was eating 30 seconds after i put him in..
we put the vlamingi tang in tonight and wow is he a monster. beautiful show fish. Very very happy with him/her :)! it was very p'd at me and dark as could be...
