My wife and I disagree on the levels of nitrates and phosphates in a reef system. We both wonder where the coral get nutrition from if the levels are almost undetectable. Will a few of you reefers chime in on this subject.

Ok I usually use Reef buffer to raise my ph to 8.3. I ran out and went to my LFS and they didnt have my usual stuff. They gave me Alkalin 8.3-p kh buffer.I use the two part from BRS, isnt that the same as the kh buffer??????????????? My head hurts.

OK I'm thinking of changing from Coralife sea salt to Reef Crystals. What is the proper procedure if any to do this. I've been using Coralife for 3 yrs now.

Should the glass lids be left on the aquarium. I am wondering if the glass takes away from t5 lighting. My fish havent leaped out of the tank yet. I know its a possibility but I'm building a cover so if they want to jump they'll bounce back in. I did have a dartfish jump into the overflow area...
