    Cleaning your tank...wall...sump..etc...

You are definitively going to damage the wall. I did damage mine in the dining room long time ago, and every time we have a nice dinner, or want to invite guests for dinner, my wife is so nice to remind me of that fact. >:( What happens is that salt creeps inside the drywall panel, builds small...

Help!!! Trying to set up new RR tank, plumbing, WATER LEAKING..

I would suggest for you to find and ask someone here, to show you their solution in practice - what, how and why they did it. Seeing it with your own eyes in real setup is much better then pics and infinitely better than any words. You wellcome to see mine, if you don't mind very, very messy...

fuge isnt the nitrate devourer i thought

Try reorganizing the sequence of chambers (their roles) the water goes through. Try mechanical filtration first (sock, sponges etc), skimmer second, chemical the third and biological filtration the last. The exact sequence for optimal performance is open for an argument, of course, and has to...

New way to travel and save gas

Actually it runs on a methane that you get from slow burning of wood (or something like that - it is past midnight and the chemistry department in my brain is fast asleep). It is a concept developed really long time ago. The fuel efficiency is approximately 20% of gasoline, but then wood does...

Help!!! Trying to set up new RR tank, plumbing, WATER LEAKING..

:) I am sorry, but you got it a bit upside-down, which, in this situation, will be very dangerous for your carpet!!! Your return pump will pump it and pump it until the sump is dry unless your overflow can supply that water. You need your overflow return to be as unimpeded and as voluminous as...

Help!!! Trying to set up new RR tank, plumbing, WATER LEAKING..

Solution is extremely simple: do NOT use the elbow. Put a foot longer hose from the overflow and let it sit in the sump. 2!!! elbows in the line into sump is serious design flaw. Just drop the hose in the sump. That is all.

Help!!! Trying to set up new RR tank, plumbing, WATER LEAKING..

Intake bulkeah in the sump? Elbow on that line? That some strange plumbing if my mental picture is correct. This is the first time I hear that someone uses an intake bulkhead from overflow into sump. Assuming you have simple standard setup of sump below the tank, there is no need for any elbows...

New way to travel and save gas

You could also consider the following alternative This method doesn't use any gasoline at all (remember that the truck that guy hiched a ride on still used the disel ;))

    Cayars New Tank

Just out of curiosity, was there a reason that the legs of the frag shelf are slanted ? If you tried to avoid still water in them, wouldn't b easier just to drill a few holes in them?

    stray voltage

Wouldn't the simple elimination technique work to find out which. Specially these (hot)days when you do not need all for of them running at the same time. :) That reminds me of that famous news stroy that got Pulitzer prize "XYZ wanted to check with a match if he still had enough gasoline in...

Weird Benifts of a reef tank

When I was a kid, we would wash any kind of cuts and scraps in the sea (you just went for a long swim) and the accelerated healing was considered to be caused by the iodine in the sea water.

    Refugium inverts, creatures

Any kind of macroalgae (not just chaeto). You can also keep in anything that pods will use for hiding/housing (like bioballs that I have seen some people use), not just LR. You can keep your standard clening crew - snails, hermits, stars etc. Don't keep fish because then it wont be a refugium at...

:) if you recall my previous post there is not a single thing in this hobby preferred by ALL for really successful reef. However, from my point of view, the most successfull reef is not the one with most colors or the most clear water. For me, it is the one the mimics the real reef most closely...

The benifits of refugium are several: First, and the reason why it is called refugium, is that is a place that small life can grow in peace, not disturbed by the fish. We are here talking about the copepods (pods), cyclops etc - microflora, as well as various worms, microstars, snails etc. When...

Does anyone know about "Power of Attorneys"?

When I tried, they wouldn't even notarize that something was exact photocopy of some document which wasn't in English. The guy explicitly said that he was notarising only English documents. Of course, you might find more sympathetic person, so give it a try and try to notarise both English and...

Does anyone know about "Power of Attorneys"?

First, is this something on the line so that she can do some transaction or is court representation? If I am reading this correctly, you are looking to authorise her to do something on your behalf. In that case, here is what I have done in similar situation but with DIFFERENT COUNTRY, though I...

Are you using RO/DI water? I had high Ca before I started using RO water only. That is first MUST step. Second, how much do you feed? And does your skimmer produce a lot of skimate (dry/wet)?
