A local lfs would probably take the cloves- mine would. Just scrape the shrooms off the rock with a knife- the ones in crevices would be hard though. I have a shroom cage to get them to re attach
The problem most of us have is visualizing coral growth. The cloves would be fine in a large tank- other kinds of cloves don't multiply or get as big as those. I'd gladly take your shrooms if you ever want to get rid of them- maybe trade for a small yuma.
I'm old school and have the 'wall' of rock, so when something gets tossed by the hermits often can't be found again- somewhere in the back or upside down behind some rock. Other times I'll see a coral just shrivel up. I lost a bounce coral months ago and was moving some stuff around and found it...
Individual cages are fine if you have the space- I don't, so I got out the old frag rack ( a piece of acrylic with a 90 degree bend) and zip tied the mesh to it, filled the bottom with rubble and cut 3 pieces so far of leathers- brown and greeen devils' hand and a finger leather- the sinularia...
No problem, would like to get a torch and a hammer sometime- maybe next time. I'm still looking to find a big enough tank to rehome my 10" gsp rock and 100+ colony of gold tip clove polyps. Will be fragging some of my leathers too- finger, brown and green devils hand and sinularia,l just broke...
Not going to work getting them off the glass, a syringe might work better- both would be better if I was working at a 90 degree angle not at best a 45, but some sort of scraper with a very fine net collector would even be better
I have a 13 gal tank with no fish in it. It had bubble algae and I did a complete blackout for a month which killed it, along with a wall of gsp. I still have aptasia in the tank- which I'm killing off with lemon juice. I recently noticed that the glass is covererd with pods- can't see any free...
in earlier tanks I had a gha problem, in my 75- which about 2 years going now it was a nuisance, but not a problem to me- others might disagree- one's nuisance is another's problem- that said, the gha was mostly on my powerheads and some coral skeletons- but not on rock. I've mentioned that I've...
My A350W Tuna blue crapped out on me and Kessil offered me a discount on their lights $194+ shipping for the A160WE and $337+shipping on the A360x- I didn't ask about the A500X, the A80 or the new one the AP9X- let me know if yyou are interested in any
I bought the material when I needed to rehome a fish in order to divide the tank and not remove all the rock- I got it at Walmart in the sewing aisle- comes in sheets and I think it also is available with larger holes. the beauty of it is you can also use it for a'time out' for fish- just cut to...
I know that all wrasses aren't alike, but my Melanurus doesn't touch any of my corals. Cloves are funny, some will stay closed for weeks at fiirst- hows the yuma doing?
