I had a similar problem but my nitrates were zero I dosed stump remover for a while and then I stopped and started using Reef roids every other day and that worked out well for me still tested zero or near zero. But the reef roids made up for the lack of nitrates

I don't think it matters what the material is glass versus acrylic I think it's the pull strength of magnets that matters. I know glasses is denser than acrylic don't know if that makes a difference. But that's a good question

I ran a jebao rw2 on my 24x8x8 frag tank that was 1/2 inch acrylic and the magnet held it just fine

Coral box makes good stuff for the price. I have their wifi dosing pump works pretty good easy to program and is accurate.

An easy way to catch the fish is to lower the water level in the tank so they don't have as much room to swim around in. The only thing bad about starting over is that it's expensive
