With new baby coming have to relocate aquarium and decided to upgrade on a budget along the way.
Couldn't justify $600+ on a new stand.
Found a stand on ebay, way up in Bergen County, no details, looked nice, wanted $450. I figured it was a generic.
Made an offer of $250. Was accepted.

Hi all,
Was talking to a few members and mentioned that it might be nice to have an end of Summer gathering for anyone who wanted to attend. Doesn't have to be about the raffles or club stuff, just a hangout with burgers and beers. If anyone wants to make swaps, great. My wife and I would...
With new baby coming, tank is going to be moved from living room to kitchen. Thinking about upgrading with move.
So, looking for an oak colored stand (with canopy) for a 75 or 90. Interested in reef ready tanks as well.

Sequala of events:
2-3 weeks ago noticed a resurgence of bryopsis.
10% water change.
Started GFO.
7 days or so ago I noticed that my 2 small anems shrinking, quickly. Got one to the QT, the other I couldn't (can't) find. The QT anem died, assume tank anem is dead.
Immediate 20% water change...
Hi all. Found a guy out in Brielle with a bunch of leftover plexiglass. As I'm building a sump, I contacted him and got some great prices on the pieces he has left over post a local job. Checked, seems legit.
All pieces are .25"
Here's what he has:
2-12x22
6-24x24
2-24x36
2-24x48 (he quoted me...
10g freshwater with contemporary metal stand. Includes 4 neons, 2 hatchets, 1 ghost shrimp, 2 snails, food, filter, a few pads, hood with lights, heater, plants, driftwood, air pump, bubbler tube, CO2, plant food, water treatment, blah, blah, blah.
So, its complete. It's not one of those...
Today's WTF moment...
I've got a varied CUC with various types of snail and a few red legged hermits. Are those snail eggs on this hermit's shell? Initially I was concerned for some king of parasite or disease, but these things are spaced, are very symmetrical, and seem to have a bit of...
Doing a bit of maintenance and figured I'd fire off a couple of shots.
Met a few of you and have described the tank, but never shared any photos.

So I have 2 of these that I had on my 40b when I started. They were excellent. Programming is easy as heck. You can sit back and hit some 'fun' buttons once in a while, via the remote, while watching the tank - such as turning down the room lights, hitting the 'storm' effect button, and playing...
Friday evening I decided to continue on with building my son's swingset.
I decided to work on Friday as I expected to be in Secaucus on Saturday.
The last I worked on the set was Wednesday.
So, Friday I decided to bolt a corner brace to a cross support, just under a 4x4 beam I installed on...
New tank has fish and corals thriving but the anems don't seem to be growing over past few months. Each is about the size of a 50c coin.
They're active and mobile with current changes, and on the occasion I feed them directly they readily accept food.
Just don't think tank is doing it for them...
Hey all.
I've got a 20g tall freshwater that I'm looking to replace with a mini reef-ready tank. Was looking at, and am tempted by, the 29 Biocube.
Plan on setting up the tank, running some live rock and some corals, and intro a couple of seahorses in a few months time.
Figured I'd check...
Thought it was subsand bryopsis, fished it out and almost ditched it till I realized it was moving.
Polychaete? Terebellid or Cirratulid?
See those as both beneficial worms.
Just want to be sure before I throw it back into tank.
Cheers,
M
When I began my initial tank, a mere 9-10 months ago, my goal was to, eventually, harbor a mandarin.
I'm not looking to do anything soon, just trying to figure out if;
A) I can have on in my tank
B) What preps I may need over the next few months.
C) He'll like the little sailor outfit I made for...
Bought a house last year and the owner left a Weber Spirit E/SP 310 grill, one of those $800+ things.
Was 6 years old, needed some parts, so I dropped $150-180 in it for new ceramic inserts, new cast iron grill plates, etc...
Works great, looks good, no major deformities aside from the inside...
A frag I bought a few months back was a bryopsis carrier. I've battled this piece of rock three times now and always come out on top, usually with little bits of green sludge on my clothes and smelling of peroxide. Now, having returned from vacation and with the auto feeder having been on, I've...
Hey all. Hope everyone's good. I need some work done, in Brick, thats a bit beyond me. I was wondering if anyone is an electrician, a landscaper/paver, or knows anyone who is.
Electric work - Have a few rooms without power due to a short, possibly in outside lighting system. Replacement of...
DANGER! RAMBLING POST!
So, with summer approaching I've decided to focus my concerns on heating my tank (it's like I'm from Bizzarro world).
Recent winter state:
Leftover heaters build. I thought - One 200W and two 150W heaters, all adjustable, they'll all monitor each other, prevent...
Hey all. Hope everyone's enjoying this weather.
I've been feeding the kids on a daily basis for the past few weeks and they seem quite happy with the arrangement.
Next week we're disappearing from Tuesday afternoon to Saturday night/Sunday morning.
Four to five days without food shouldn't be...

Emerald crab hitcher, big guy, like 2" round.
Will get bigger as he has apparently eaten, or at least killed, in the past week:
1 smaller emerald crab,
2 ceriths,
and 1 turbo.
Deaths were a...
