Guys how high off the water can I mount this fixture, while still being able to grow anything on the sand (mainly just acclimating - sps)? The tank is a standard 180 (72x24x24) I believe that par needs to be around 300 for SPS (is this correct)

Update. Tank is painted an on stand. Sump is in. Just need to order pump and get lights. I ended up going with A 5 ft ati sunpower model.

If I used this To paint the eggcrate black. Do I need I worry about anything leeching into the water?

So drain the water and let it dry out? Or let it at in stagnant water? And then dump and rinse

I have a fire shrimp that is thriving in my tank. I really want to get a melnarus wrasse to defend my sps against critters. Any suggestionsZ? From what I read the Melanraus will eat the shrimp. Any suggestions would be nice
