Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Yeah, thats Doc Jim (DVM). I'm more open to a 24" cube that's simple, even to a point of a hob.
I'm looking for an inexpensive tank (or trade for one or two of my tanks).
A RSR170 is more cash than I'm willing to spend atm.
But, cheers for the heads up, your generosity will be remembered during...
Mark,
Wasn't I standing in your foyer about 3 years back when you swore you were done ;) I think it was just as I was getting back in after swearing i was done.
Truly happy to see that stand being used properly, and that will be an amazing friggin fragger.
No personal experience but I have heard...
Could it be a small pistol? I've had 2 mantis over the years, both clubbers. Neither ever attacked a fish. Inverts were in the 'light snack' category for both. Both would, however, burrow down into the sand under the rocks and smash at the glass on the bottom of the tank to try to get deeper. If...
Keep in mind they're more comfortable in 'dirty water' and prefer lower flow and moderate light. They tend to do well in larger tanks with mixed reefs if you tuck them away, but once you downsize the tank, say 60g or lower, they tend to need slightly 'dirtier' water and a bit less husbandry...
Bob,
I still need your address btw, have a shirt here to mail you :).
As any hobby its what you're willing to spend. I've already moved from that small cart to a 6' x 3' custom modelling desk. But, outside the setup it's reasonable. I built a small paint booth for $30-60, bought an airbrush...
MODEL SCORE TODAY!
But first...
Finished that Space 1999 Eagle a while back and been through a few other models...
And today I stumbled across a rare model any 50yo Sci-Fi TV geek would address with, 'Holy S, I need that now!'.
So, it came home with me.
Mega complex kit, translation looks...
Are we doing a booth this year? If so, you can pen me in for Sunday mid-morning till 6pm or so. ;)
If not, I may see folks there Sunday regardless. I will wear my NJRC shirt and greet any fellow NJRC member by loudly announcing how happy I am that they finally got out of prison.
They're deceptively solid connections once seated. I've exclusively used slips in every build from 80 to 140 and never had a concern. As Rob said, I'd avoid PVC cement as theres always a chance of a future mod. Sometimes i would assemble the slip halfway, then put a small bead of silicone on the...
Phyto is pretty simple, its actually hard to go wrong growing it.
Phyto fertilizer or miracle grow, air or no air, grow lights or daylight, buckets or tanks... it will grow given the chance (and a starter).
The pain is keeping it alive, transferring, fertilizing, and cleaning bottles as it grows...
Normally we do monthly meets. The past few years I've been doing a huge summer party, with exception of last year, of course. We have a few tables out for selling stuff, frag tanks for trades/sales, donated auction items, etc...
Hoping to get back to it this year depending on the overall Covid...
Looks like your maint dose is going to be about 30ml per day. I'd do 30ml every morning at same time and test Alk every night at same time for at least 4-5 days to establish a solid baseline of what 30ml daily does. Once you know your baseline you can start making adjustments.
I have 2 of those practically brand new I can sell, I had them in my 120 for 4 months and LOVED 'em. When I broke down the tank I liked them so much I didn't sell them but I know now that I'm not going back to anything over 30g AIOs, so willing to part.
And, the Jeabo and Jecods are fantastic...
