    Gonipora bleached

i've had goni bleach before and recover. moved it to low light and low flow area and it took about 2 to 3 months to rebound. i've also had one goni frag bleach that did not recover with the same approach. i've also dealt with flatworms before and agree with six-line or melanurus wrasse. i've...

    Misc Coral

not a common coral that i've seen. would your recognize the name if you heard it? poked a round a bit and found a couple species of Lobophyllia that look similar, but not as flat. Parascolymia vitiensis is similar and flat, but often solitary polyps. whatever it is, looks cool though.

    Nutrient Levels

i do what gooch does for phosphate and i wouldn't feed my corals more than 2 or 3 times a week max. usually once a week, sometimes twice for me. i don't think they can handle frequent feedings on account of a pretty slow metabolism rate.

Teach me how to dose (kalkwasser)

in my approach which isn't the same as some of the other's approaches here, ideally, you want to dose a bit below your minimum daily evaporation amount throughout the year. obviously, you're not going to take a year to figure that out, so your going to have to guesstimate, based on when you...

Teach me how to dose (kalkwasser)

the k1 is pretty tall, even though its the smaller of the two. with your AIO setup, the only way i think you might be able to pull it off is to have it on a shelf behind your tank so that just enough of the top and output is sticking up above the sump area. but that's going to make maintenance...

    Collecting shells

i've added clam and oyster shells to tanks without much more than a quick rinse. sometimes not even that if it was something i pulled from the ocean myself. with those shells its easier to see there's no flesh or detritus left in them, but i'd rather not deal with putting something that's...

    Need brains

take this all with a grain of salt because i've never pulled an icp test before, but i'm bothered by the critically high and critically low stuff. what salt are you using and are you using your own ro/di? wondering where those values are coming from, it would seem important to get to the bottom...

    Interceptor for white bugs

i have access to a microscope, but its at work and in philly. is this something that prepping a slide would work for? pretty sure we could get some pictures of the scopes, but i don't really do micoscopy, but it should not be a problem.

    "Walking" Corals"

it does look like Cycloseris is in the Fungiiadae family. i had a Heliofungia (long tentacled plate coral) in a 10 gallon nano that would move around the tank, but not much given the size of the plate and the limited space to move in the tank. i actually saw it doing it a few times and to me it...

Any anemone remover experts out there ?

i've had success peeling them off stuff by the foot. most advice says not to do that because they are delicate and you can tear and kill them. but in my experience, the base/foot where it attaches to the rock is pretty callous and tough. i've also tried freezing rodi water into cubes and...
