James, I'm scratching my head on this one. I'm making (by calculation) 80 gpd from my 50 gpd membrane. The restrictor I'm currently running is a 550. According to BRS, this is the same restrictor I need for the 75 gpd membrane. So now I'm thinking I'll put in this new membrane and test...
So I'm not crazy about fish. I eat mild fish....cod, fluke, flounder, salmon....but nothing fishy, like blue fish. And please don't mention sushi....to me, it's chum...fish bait. Well I've found my new favorite marinate for salmon. I've now grilled it three times, and it's a winner (Even...
Unless something has changed, you don't need a license for saltwater...but do need to register. This is for free, but still needs to be done up until the point the State decides is a revenue source. HERE is the link the talks about it.
In the JBJ 28 I have, I used boiling RO/DI water. I usually use concentrated lemon or lime juice, but was concerned that the amount that I had to kill, I'd end up with a tank of lemon juice. So I went with boiling water. I simply put a coffee cup into the microwave and then used the turkey...
Two recommendations for refractometers:
1. Use 53mS solution to calibrate. Do not use RO/DI water.
2. Keep your hinges swinging freely. The "thickness" of the water on the plate face will impact the reading. What I do is squirt a little WD40 into a small glass and then use a toothpick...
I just purchased this from Ligershark today.....a day old 75gpd Filmtec RO membrane.
When I purchased my RO unit back in 2008, I was told it was a 75 gpd unit. Considering I make 5 gallons in about 90 minutes, that calculates out to 80 gallons a day. Well, I pull my old membrane only to...
What I'd do is pick up some JB Weld (Walmart automotive area....about 5 or 6 bucks) and mix up some and fill the crack. I don't know if this epoxy would do much, except to make me feel like I did something.
It's hard to tell from the picture with all that blue...but this is the edge...
I have two older Apollo LED fixtures. Thought I'd check the site and see what was new. HERE is what I found.....Ceasing operations!
Can't remember the owner's name, but he certainly did right by me. Hope all works out for him.
George, they were rusted in. I tried all the tricks I know to get the last one out, but eventually had to drill it out. When I re-installed the screws, I relied on the best stuff in the business to assure I'd get them out again if and when I needed to....
Now I buy this in the biggest...
Matt, that's surprising....gas goes bad.....fairly quickly. Unless you have a gas stabilizer, I'd drain the gas (and throw it in you car), leaving the generator empty. The light volatiles quickly evaporate, making the starting process rather difficult.
And pretty cool video on the cardinals.
It’s been a while since I’ve updated. Everything has just been humming along….until today. I go into the fish room and hear this noise coming from the sump area. I sit on my little stool and identify the eshine sump light as making the noise. I figure I’d have to replace the fan in the...
You could still use a toggle bolt....and one made for swag lights to easily hang the lights. These get drilled directly into the sheetrock and hold something like 50 pounds. Easy way to do it without putting up a board.
Marinated over night...if anything it was slightly more flavorable, with my guess being because the meat cooked in the marinate instead of falling into the grill.
Potatoes. Fork both sides, microwave to partially cook (about 3-4 minutes; turn over, another 3 - 4 minutes); cut in half...
