I went through this a bit too. I couldnt understand why it was consuming different amounts at different times. Pick Your ALK Goal Number. I selected 9.0
I dosed and tested a few weeks and was getting frustrated.
Would adjust ALK to 9.0, Calcium to 450.
Some days ALK would test at 7.5 others...
Not for nothing, but I have seen lots of variations of your setups. While I liked the bowfront from 2017, this one seems like its well on its way to becoming the top tank. Keep at it! If ever up here in North Jersey stop by and grab some frags...

So decided to give phytoplankton a go.
Cleaned everything really well, using the starter kit from Mercer of Montana with 32 ounces of nannochloropsis phytoplankton and 8 ounces of Gilliard's formula F2 algae.fertilizrr food.
I split one 16oz bottle between 2 - 2 litter bottles with the rest...
Ha e had 2 pairs in as small as my red sea s500 (112 gallon display).
But 3 in numerous systems including my 210 result in aggressions towards the oddball. I have a 65 that is currently housing 3 and as long as the 3rd doesn't come too close he is allowed to stay in his corner. Not a happy place...
My DI resin only last 2-3 months based on my water and usage. I change the DI resin when color changes. Then when that one changes...I replace the Sediment and 2 carbon filters. So I but the 6 stage kit, even though ai only have the 5 stage, so I get the extra pouch of DI resin. So $42 every six...
I have been bare bottom, just due to all my small corals being covered, hidden, and dying. It is easier. I can just use a turkey baster or power head to stir things up as I do a water change...BAMM DOne. No siphoning sand to clean it.
