Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Thanks @diana a

Well that's pretty far, but if you want to swing by and grab the buckets you're welcome to. You could also check out that rock I mentioned, I have some sitting around that I'm going to use soon. Alternatively I'm up in Eatontown a day or two week these days. If you want...
I find they all kinda suck. I use the afs on one of my frag tanks. It is loud, and can dump a lot of food depending on size.
Are you getting one for vacation, or constant use? When I go on vacation, I typically use dos pumps and feed nyos gold pods or aretemis.
Where are you located? I'm in Little Egg Harbor, 08087. I can help you with a couple RSCP buckets for free (the 5 gallon ones with screen on lids) . I'd always prefer to buy from a club member, but you can get natures ocean dry rock from Amazon for a little over $1 a pound.
I sent a text. Judging by the phone number he's prolly to far, but I can meet at work. lol, I have really bright long tentacle gsp, and can talk about a sale by the square foot.
Funny, what you mention above is why I had trouble getting opinions. You cannot adjust the PH in mine, the control board does it all. I just control how much effluent is dosed, it's not a constant flow. No bubble counter, no carbon doser. Just press up or down....
So this reactor was frustrating to get going, most of it due to my inexperience and the quirks that come with a different style reactor. Anyway, it's been dialed in for 2 days now, and my tests haven't move at all from 9.2.
The best part, this is 3.5 gallons of two part I won't have to buy...
Feng was very cool when I met him. I was in the area for one of the boys club soccer games. I called, he was closed, he let come in anyway since he was there. Cool, but small place.
I agree. My gfo usage has definitely dropped since I started dosing nitrates, but no where close to low enough to stop usage. @motortrendz is right, all reefs are different, test test test!
I disagree. You are bringing your reef in line with testing and dosing. No different than dosing alk and calc.
deep in live rock or marine pure in a slow flow area will allow bacteria to grow that will consume nitrates. This same concept is what is used to run a denitrator.
