Even though they say (x) cups = (x) specific gravity.....it ain't true!! Always and I mean always test your replacement sea water SG after thoroughly mixing. Salt batches vary slightly and one mans level cup is another's "generous" cup.JMO
Your other option is to get a temp holding tank. Drain the 75, pull off the silicone on affected or suspected sides, reseal with new tank silicone, cure 48 hours and refill back. This is the cheapest and only requires your time. I have an empty 40 breeder you can use to temp house corals. Use a...
Your 2 part should have minimal effect on SG if corals are consuming it. Your SG issues are related to improper calibration and or too long of a time between top off which results in extreme swings in SG.
1.030 is pretty high in my opinion. If you want to continue manual top off ( I did for 2 yrs with a 55) take a sharpie and mark on the sump your ideal water level with a specific gravity of 1.025-1.026. Every morning and evening add Ro/di to make sure the level stays consistent. IMHO get a tunze...
I do not know the amount but would have to think yes in this case. How would a double pane be much different than the the glass cover protecting most lighting systems. You are probably not getting much uv but I'm sure your have photosynthetic light. A photon is a photon....and your lps now...
That is so clean and well organized...I wish I could be that well thought out with a project. I'm with you and water production, mines in my 5 foot utility crawl space. Nice!
Smcooler is a given for sps truly the best. I think AO even sells some of his stuff. Hcker99 at ultimate corals is a great place for nice zoas and other colorful softies, lps. Ocean gallery 2 is another place that has some great finds of all types. Fengs is good for sps but he is more by...
I have both....and will keep it as such. The mp 40-10s can be put in low corners of the tank, no cords in water and have a much more sleek profile with a more random flow pattern. The gyre has a ton of flow in this linear zone, nice way to really mix up the majority of tank water and use vortech...
I would check your alk, with Gfo and carbon and little coral life or that which likes water with more nutrients...you may be too clean. No copper ever used in tank? No rusty magnets?
Naw, it's sipping tequila! Good old Don Julio Repesado, I prefer anejo. Now of it were bourbon.....preference being woodford, neat is nice but if I'm haggard from the day then I have a 1cube rule! Lol
