I don't have a controller so I can't comment on which is better. But if you are running more then 1 light it goes from the controller to 1 light then out of that light to the next light. I have the Vegas so they are controlled wirelessly so there are no wires involved.

I use Reef crystals I switched to aquavitro for a little and my tank took a turn for the worst.. So I went back to what worked for me..

At that price I would suggest paying the extra $50-70 and go with phathoms like sunny has.. Just the customer service alone is worth the extra money. And if you are getting multiple units you may be able to get a better deal.

I have the AI Vegas and love them. But you would need 3-4 units to cover your tank. Not sure if your willing to spend that. I did get a great deal on one of my units buying it used.

Hammers/torches/frogspawns all pack a powerful punch and can stretch a good distance so make sure to give them space... As they will take out other corals easily..

Stay away from the xenia it's a real PIA... I would say try some Zoas or even hammer or frogspawn..
