Ok so we are saying have some rocks in fuge with mud and nothing in sump. I also have filter socks on each drain, so I guess keeping about 20LB in fuge (small peices) would be a good idea?

It is to do with carbon filter for sure. The one I got is still working fine for a week now and is not spectrapure filter. Sorry to hear about your experience.

Well the replacement filter that they send me has not arrived yet. That said, I picked one regular carbon filter from a LFS. Guess what ... I now get 55 PSI and it makes 90 gallons a day. SO I really do not need a spectrapure filter.

Brian So are you suggesting NOT to keep any live rock in the sump and let the LR in main tank handle all the filtration?

Hello I am wondering if I also need to setup a QT with my main tank. I have a spare 10G with light and heater at home. The issue is what kind of filter should/could I use? I have a wisper HOB filter and also have a sponge filter. Can any of these be used for the QT? Do I need PS as well...

Here is an update - some very interesting finding ... Suspecting low pressure in the house I called up my township and asked them to come and inspect. They came this morning and checked the pressure in the main house outlet - it was 55 PSI !!!. Then I unplugged the RO unit from the laundry sink...

If the water quality is not affected, I am fine with the quantity reduction. I am just very surprised that the pressure is that low. It should at least be 6 PSI. The booster pump is more of a headache than remedy I guess. I just wanted to see what other people are getting in terms of PSI.
