Same. I just run a gallon or so of water through the reactor. Once it runs clear, I direct it back into the sump.

I agree with this approach. I have a lot of rock in my display, some would say too much. That said, there are only a few spots actually touching the bottom of my tank. The flow allows there to be no areas where detritus has a spot to gather.

+1 on reefcleaners. If you buy their preset free shipping packages they give a lot of dwarfs, (which I wanted).

I don’t think it would, but that sounds like a lot of sand for a 32g. I used 50lbs for my 160...

7-10 months? I would just set up and run now, breakdown and transport like @trio91 said when it's time. It's 32 gallons, the workload of that will be small.
