I use an infrared gun, and another thermometer to try and find a consensus on a temp. After I pick the temp, I try to keep it stable with no swings.

I got one... Any idea on what this is? It looks like a feather duster with a helmet on. When it retracts the “helmet” blocks the hole it came out of. There is a raised area on the skeleton of the hammer that is retracts into. Dave

I was able to get the bubble in place today. It fully retracted when I moved it. It’s partially opened now, with the feeders out. This is what it’s been doing each night before I moved it. Dave

Thanks for the feed back Alex. This rock can’t be moved, he’s at the bottom of the mid third of the tank. I have no plans on messing with him, unless you were going to tell me it wasn’t an issue. I feel better knowing he’ll move if he wants to. Dave
