I don't believe these are cultured clams. I'm getting them from restaurant depot.
So usually the wild clams have a lot of sand in them.
So I'm buying 300 clams for Wednesday's Giants season opener and we are looking to steam them in some white wine, garlic, shallot, etc. What's the best way to get the sand out of 300 fresh clams?
Is this the same stuff? Is it supposed to be rigid? Will the foam ever compress to much putting stress on the tank again?

I have plenty of carbon...I bought a bunch of it from brs...but then decided to stop running it on my tank since some research as shown it possibly and a stress possibly contributes to hlle.

So....dried out the rock for about a week....now just put them back in the can with water and 4 gallons on vinegar....

I'll leave them soaking for about 3 days....I'll rinse them again...dry them and then soak them in fresh water for a couple days...
I bleached my rock with 4 gallons of bleach in a garbage can with water and circulation. I let it sit in the bleach for a week. Wow are these rocks white again!! Going to have to get some coraline from somewhere to seed the new tank with.

Ok...so after 3 weeks of going back and forth trying to decide whether to just give up and sell everything or continue my re-build, I have decided to continue the build. It was not an easy decision though since this is the 2nd time this has happened to me.

So after Jeff turned my stand into a monster he suggests putting a piece of foam between the tank and stand to take up any gaps.
What kind of foam and I looking for....something like this...
