So, for my first run...
1x Coral +
1x Purple +
1x Blue +
1x True actinic
Then fine tune with 3x Hydra 26
I could go 2 Blue+ but I'd like to get the actinic in there to supplement growth.
Ha! It is what I'm looking for but I stumbled across a pair on the net for $8 shipped, so I picked them up. Thank you though.
And if you need an extra Kessil or two let me know, happy to pass them on.
Cool deal, picking up a lot this AM.
Found these excellent vids on the ATI bulbs...
X and Ver, I was thinking along those lines initially of 2 blue and 2 coral, but reseach seems to say that 2x coral+ tend to wash out the blues, I'm thinking...
Blue+, Coral+, True Actinic, Blue+, and fine...
So I purchased a 36" AL hybrid light.
Tank is 24" deep.
Fixture will be about 10-12" above waterline
Tank will be mixed reef, and I'm going to start some SPS higher up.
The hybrid unit will hold 4 T5 bulbs along with 3 Hydra 26HD LEDs.
I like the blue spectrum for the zoa pop, but have no...
Bought them from a trusted member and never asked, though the boxes have 9/2015 written on the side.
They work great. This is probably around 5% for the photo. At 50% they're practically blinding.
Apex system didn't work out, decided to put off the automation for a while, and, as such, I'm in recoup mode, looking to get what I paid for the stuff.
2 (two) 3/4" Seaswirls $40
One works fine.
The other has a broken actuator arm and can be self repaired $15, Seaswirl repaired $85, or used for...
Apex did offer to repair but, of course it was $150 to look at the items ($75 each) plus shipping. They could easily replace the controller, but the Lite is discontinued so if it isn't an easy fix it's a wash, though they would offer me a new unit at a decent discount (but it still outweighs the...
Sweet.
Thanks for the input. Was just curious on thoughts after that convo earlier.
My previous big tank had the GFI/waterproof combo, this one will as well.
Moved to Equipment conversation.
I have to say that Apex customer support is unbelievable. We've been in and out of conversation and instruction for over 4 hours and they're still nothing but pleasant and helpful.
It seems the problem isn't with the AquaController, its with the brain itself...
We're having problems with that. I was on the phone with NA for 3 hours today trying to configure and were not having any luck through the computer. They advise trying a new Aquacontroller to see if it can be worked out, if not it may be a hardware issue.
Not selling the Apex at this point, decided to hook it up but unfortunately the controller is bad.
Think you and Dave are right though. GFI with waterproof and if Apex situation resolved, keep it in another outlet.
Dave,
Decided to actually hook it up and use it to see how I liked it, so put it on temp hold till i tested it out.
Unfortunately the Aqua Controller has a huge dead spot on screen and I can't do anything with the unit atm.
Graz,
HE wasn't talking about voltage getting in tank.
He meant that if there is a surge, and the GFI trips, all equipment will be off until I reset the outlet.
If I'm at work or away, that could be 10 hours to days without pumps.
His suggestion was to avoid the GFI so if a surge happens...
