Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
We have always been a fan of a lot of small colorul fish vs a coupe of big fish. We had:
Pair of clowns
Gold assesor basslet
Flasher wrasse
Barnacle blennies
Helfrichi firefish
Gobies in the sand (Forget which one)
I would avoid the damsels because they are just nasty. Depending on what...
It looks like you just have a bit of it, so I agree with getting it out and just keeping an eye on it for now. Does your tank get any direct sunlight or has the temp been high? I got a cyano outbreak in my 12g years ago when we had a temp spike when our air conditioning unit shut down.
I had the 57g with the mega overflow and hated it. You will be happy that you cut it down even though it was a PIA. Love the swc skimmers so good choice there. Have you thought about stocking?
How does your tank look?
When we had our smaller tanks (57g and under) we were pretty religious with %10 weekly changes. Small and steady can only help you in this hobby. Now that we have a 400g system with a calcium reactor we don't have to be quite so crazy. We do 65g every 2-3 weeks...
One of the main reasons we upgraded is we did not trust the stand on the 57g oceanic. It had too much wiggle to it and made us nervous, especially when 15 pound cats jump at the glass. The new tank and stand are not budging at all so we are much happier. I think you will also enjoy the peace...
Be careful with them, use gloves if you are using your hands. If you can find one of the aipstaia "zappers" to borrow from someone on here, they do a great job on them. I know Ed and curt have them.
I would say it is a paly, however they can be even more invasive and nasty then aipstia. If they are starting to invade your acans you might have a problem.
