+1, I do the same thing.

Use a different brand of testing kit or see how old your current kit is. With Mag at trace levels I would find it hard to keep the Ca and Alk levels where they are. When I had low Mag prior to dosing my alk and Ca were always dropping regardless of the amount of dosing.

Welcome! I myself started with softies and lps. As I became more confident and consistent with my water parameters I moved on to Sps. My intent was to have a mixed reef, but the sps bug got the better of me and my tank is sps dominant.

The one in the second pic is an amazing blue! Mine is like an electric blue and has the best growth of all of them. The third one I think I have but mine is/ was purple like. No idea what the first one is, but cool! Nice colors and I see some good encrusting as well!

I find the Chinese imitations just fine. The cost of each led is cents on the dollar. The only unique thing is when the software or ability to alter/change intensity over time comes in to play. Not willing to pay top dollar for the equivalent cell phone that weighs 10 lbs. I will wait to spend...

The middle one is my favorite! I just did a transfer to my tank so it is quite brown now. Hopefully the color will come back.

The magnets look exactly the same as the ones I have. Hope they do not rust, time will tell and in the mean time they add a whole new dimension to the tank!

Thanks John, will do. I also have plastic encased ones that are water proof.If I see any signs I will switch over.

No I did not coat them, they said it would be able to deal with salt water...I will watch and see. I have plastic coated magnets I can use if needed.

Got some magnets this weekend. I found that super glue does not stick to glass in the long haul. So k&j magnetics had a great selection. I ended up with small plastic 1/4 inch and 3/4 epoxy coated. These magnets are strong! Work fine and if you want to move a frag no big deal....just drag it...

Got similar model. I really like them, but they are bright! Mine run at 80% max during peak output. I use the custom mode and set each channel output every 30 min. Helps the colors pop in my sps.
