Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
Have a number of things to clear out as I need some space back:
20g, never seen water, might have a small bit of silicone near a seam (was going to be a sump) - $10
(No photo, just imagine a 20g tank - there ya go)
15g tall with ($99) contemporary metal stand - $25
1/4" plexi...
Curious on how this compares to a reef octo 110. I've been looking to upgrade over the past few weeks. I moved from 80g total volume to 115 total volume mixed reef with medium stocking (looking to expand slightly) and I know I need an upgrade soon. If the BM is more efficient (hard to find net...
So! I had an icky thing happen. I had shut down return pump power to do a water change, did said change, restored power, and noticed something stuck in my overflow grates. Unfortunately it was a snowflake clown which has been doing fantastically since purchase 6 months ago and got a bit too...
Juan,
Had a bad bryopsis outbreak last year. Did the whole manual cleaning and it came back. Basically I did the same as you've done of manually cleaning all the rock (dipping and spraying with hydrogen peroxide, heavily, when possible), did a vacuum of the upper sand layers, ran GFO, vodka...
Beautiful tank guys! I was stunned last year when I saw your tank in person. Seems to be going uphill from there.
I'm the same on the SPS, my softies and LPS are out of control, but any SPS tends to struggle - going to focus on Alk parameters over next few weeks.
Good luck and thanks for...
Hey! How's everyone in the 'Surgeries R Us' household? Hope you guys are recovering well.
BTW, a few months ago I had a weird thing happen, thought I was having a mild heart attack. I work in the health business so I told my boss I was off to the ER as I thought I was having a heart attack. He...
Most HOB filters, and I'm thinking along the lines of Aqueons and such usually used for freshwater, are simple chemical reactors (carbon and a nitrogen absorbing compound) with mechanical filtration (sponge or filter pad). I've used to use a HOB when I ran a quarantine for a short while. I just...
Welcome aboard.
I was very happy with my flip phone, even happier on the odd chance I got a phone call and people would look at me like I was a neanderthal as I pulled it out of my pocket.
Last year it died and it was nearly impossible to find a flip phone so I bought my first 'smart phone'. It...
So, as I sit here waiting for my RODI for a water change, drinking quality bourbon (Knob Creek Small Batch) out of a small plastic cup (which I had in hand as I was doing fish stuff), I decided to share my holiday decor.
I hate holiday decor. I love the season. I hate the work.
So! Being an...
I can see that. As the screws are the only exposed piece they could have gone brass for a few cents more. It really wouldn't have been that much of a difference in manufacturing cost.
So, I've had a few acrylic holders that never really did me any good as they had to be mounted with screws for the most part and many never fit on my tank (or rim) properly.
Recently added a Vertex Holder to an order from a retailer. It cost me $20 which I thought was a bit for a 3 line holder...
Been about 7 weeks, things are settling in. Dropping a few pics...
For the most part, all going well with the exception of some of the SPS. I'm guessing I may be bleaching the out with the new lighting, so going to play about with that over the next few weeks.
