Just the other day I was working on my tank and had a beer in hand......... The thought came to me...... I wonder what would happen if I accidently dropped the beer in there? Would I need to take out all the water or would the fish just start swimming sideways?

I think I did something similar to what you described. I have 2 drains and one going right into the skimmer section and the other is split between the fuge and skimmer. I just played around with the valves until I got the flow I wanted.

Go to a glass store and ask them to cut you some glass. I tried Lowes glass and it was way too thin and it cracked. Just look in the yellow pages under glass.

What about NJ Transit rather than PATH? I am sure you can get much closer like that.

I agree with the lab grade probes. I actually called them about this and it is almost the same probe but just holds up to a lot more so you can put it "in-line". It will report the same as the standard.

I don't have this tank but I personally would prefer to modify the filter rather than the tank. You can just add more length of plastic to the area where the water comes out of the filter. I have the same problem with that filter when I am not good with my top-off.
