I agree use new sand. I tried to reuse sand and washed it the bejesus out of it and had so many problems. Not worth the trouble IMO.

Well had no choice but to chop up the bird nest but many pieces bleached. Also, had to chop the stunner chalice. It started to bleach again but seems to have stopped. I think the issue was my Gyre was not pumping and no clue for how long. I noticed film on the water the other day and swapped it...

The farthest north I go these days is Matawan / Aberdeen area.

I would check the silicone, no missing pieces. No cracks in glass. Same with sump even if its acrylic. Check stand for warp or wood rot.

I had to cut off part of the large Hollywood stunner as it started bleaching after I moved it over and higher. In the process the rock broke in half, I have no need for it come and get ASAP. Will post in a few mins. A bag of small Hollywood Stunner pieces about 4 pieces half 1/2 inch or smaller...
