rod- this thread is 4 months old. You didn't "miss" anything. Keith is just dredging up old threads...lol..
Keith - I know you are new - but just fyi - asking in a public forum whether someone is selling something could get this thread closed. Buying and selling happens in the members-only...
totally agree. This was the result of pure sweat/effort by Ed. Thanks!
I must say when I checked out the website - it was interesting but after hearing Ken talk - i am totally amazed and just love what they are doing down there. Great talk from a really down-to-earth guy.
welcome back inky! lol.
an 8 gallon - eh? what are the dimensions? you could keep a pair of juvenile clowns similar to the ones i'm raising. But after about a year or so you'd have to trade them in as they do get much bigger.
I am not a fan of hermits so that's up to you. Those other inverts...
not sure what you guys mean by this. The slurry in the reactor or whatever barrel you are mixing in is what goes in. The clumped up stuff at the bottom is super concentrated and could swing your alk drastically if you were to dump that in direct to the tank. In my reactor as more Top off is...
copperbands are very difficult to acclimate to dry foods. I believe blange and jimroth have butterflies long term. Copperbands will also eat any tube worms feather dusters. Good luck sid on whatever decide. pepps seem to be the cheapest method.
One other method would be to get some epoxy and...
yep - also with the dry food there is zero chance of them chokingon the food - unlike the artemia. Although they are de'cap'd eggs I still get a few that look like they just ate too much of a good thing. Not to mention the "freak out" when the lights go out deal. Just too jittery.
here's an old...
lol the kent stuff can be considered expensive. I believe a lot of ppl on here hit walmart or other stores when "pickling lime" season is at hand - then they start selling the stuff cheap.
I'm still trying to use up my kent kalk.
btw - i use a reactor - we had a group buy years ago on them and...
i'd be open to trying it as long as you don't have too much of the stuff. I could see how a large amt of cyano dying could disrupt the chemistry of the tank.
I am getting cyano myself lately - and it's definitelybecause I have been lax with the water changes. I plan on increasing that and also...
man that stinks. If it makes you feel any better I am an expert at not keeping clams. I'm dumping my light one way or another for one of those icecap ones.
So my clownfish have been hatching fry in the display. In my brilliant mind I thought I should add a second thermometer (main one is downstairs in sump) to monitor the temp. Prior to the fry hatching I shut downt he pumps and the water sometimes gets cool - so I add a heater directly to the...
sending this thread back up (i know it's old - but the info in here is still relevant). Folks if you have ich - do read this.
Maybe we need a sticky on ich. I'll have to dig up some other good threads and maybe combine posts.
haven't heard anything back - hope everything is ok. Pm me if you need someone to actually come by and help out. I'm not all that great but I"m sure I could drag a few others on the board to join in.
