    UV Sterilizer Size

    I would say that it is undersized. I have the 18 watt Turbo Twist on my 90 gallon. The turbo twists aren't the best UV Sterilizers. I think it has something to do with the bulb not being a true UV bulb and it being a PC bulb. That's why I oversized the unit a bit. Whether it actually does...

    Hydroids?

    I had hydroids when I first started up my system. But they didn't look like that. I had a "bloom" of them, then they just went away. Thankfully they were only in my fuge and never made it into the main. Here is a pic of what they looked like:
