Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
come to think of it - if I lived closer - i'd probably pay you to take pics of my tank lol! seriously if we had a tank of the month - someone should pay you to just drive to different homes and take pics of their tanks!
and as i mentioned on the other wtb thread - lowes would have all the pvc parts you need to build your own durso pipes. Just grab the locline from AqOb while you're there.
Ray - having used smaller mags before on my old 55 - i can definitely say they added a degree or two to the overall temp. One for the skimmer, one for the return (back then i probably should have just gotten a single one and plumbed it). Anyways if you have the room to go external - I definitely...
no apology necessary! I was thinking of running it on my old pc to see how it goes...i've wiped my pc every so often (after backing up of course) just to rid myself of the weird things that get attached on the pc. I try and tell my kids not to say yes to adding things to run a game - but things...
I would personally avoid downloading or running any EXE file unless you are confident you know what it will install on your pc - or are willing to do a re-wipe of your pc if there's a trojan horse in there.
This is a perfect example of "journalism" by editing. What I mean is that the reporter took out pieces of only the bad news. Read the entire report here:

It's fascinating (at least the executive summary is - i...

LOL. Sorry - he should have PAID you to take the skimmer... ;D
Uh - I wish I had the spare cash. Did you notice C was up over the $5 mark yesterday. Lol too bad it was brief.
Seriously if I had the spare cash - it would be for a PS3....lol!
I'm not sure how much 25# of sand will displace in terms of volume of salt water. So I would just make the 25 gallons. if you make too much, just siphon out some of the old water and use this opportunity as a big water change.
There should be no cycle. But are you using the old sand? I'd be...
do you have a picture of the sump? are there baffles in there?
Do you have an auto-top-off to keep the water level?
what is the pump rating from sump to display? If the sump has very high turnover - you could consdier slowing the water through-put so that the bubbles form the skimmer have a...
you need 12 bulkheads?
Depending on whether they are slip/slip etc and size - you should probably call ahead to see if any of the above mentioned stores has that many in stock in the size/configuration you want.
what about a hob skimmer like the aqua c remora?
it may not be the best - but it's pretty "popular" in the sense that there are a lot of them being used and you could probably get a good deal finding a used one.
i'll send you a pm with how to contact them. You may have to ship the skimmer to their warehouse in austin,tx.
here's their address:
Tunze USA

Austin, TX 78753
but best to contact them before sending your skimmer in.
How are you measuring it...? I'd be sure that the test is correct before taking any of these actions:

Couple suggestions in there:
just put in an airstone to drive some more CO2 in. The ph should also drop during the daytime when more things...
hehe - you're asking the wrong guy.
A good skimmer (in my opinion), without talking brand names -
generates a good froth, requires minimal modifications (once set), and has minimal moving parts.
There are venturi skimmers, skimmers that use airstones, meshwheels, skimmers that use a "spray...
