Not sure what the point of this is as the ocean next to it is a lot bigger.

Looking for a strong pump that can push water up one level…. Approximately 40 feet total

I also used this https://www.amazon.com/Rio-26HF-HyperFlow-Water-Pump/dp/B000BJP52S/ref=sr_1_2?dchild=1&keywords=rio+26hf&qid=1630342118&s=pet-supplies&sr=1-2 Cheap, worked well but noise (a grumbling noise). I have also elevated the sump level from the floor, easier to maintain and less head...

    Miracle mud?

I think people just dump it in. The detritus (or sendiment) is what you're paying for.

    Bonsai Reef

An algae blenny is added. I have some hair algae on the rocks. Bought 3 emerable crabs they just disappeared. A blenny will add a lot of interest to the tank. But this one has a sunken belly. Hopefully it will survive. ACC was having a snail sale in the weekend. Not the $1 one but cheap enough...

    Bonsai Reef

It hasn't been so bad lately after I syphoned out most of it. I actually have red slime remover but will try to fix it by other means. The cyano tend to disappear by itself if the condition is good.

    Bonsai Reef

Let see how this works before spending that kind of money for a refugium light. The area is small it's more like an experiment. The cyano and other ugly stuff seem to be largely in check.

    Bonsai Reef

Adding a refugium. Got some macro from @jd120988 thabks. Looking for a narrow focus led bulb to reduce the spill. We’ll see if this is worthwhile.

    North Jersey Get together/ meet

I have a guy came today picked up the hogfish and some corals and had a lively chat for 1 hour. I guess we all need to get together and talk corals! The club has done grow out contest before we should do that. It's fun. I am happy to donate some palys or zoas frags for this.

    Fish and Corals

It does not like strong flow. It is in a shaded spot now and happy so not sensitive to lights. I personally do not think it's very aggressive as some people would say.

    Fish and Corals

Haha - what you like. I will keep a piece for you. The zoas grow like weed.

    Fish and Corals

Haha I saw it in the store as well. I suggest you don't if you have a wrasse already in the tank.

Re-arrange tank and end up with some extras for sale. Pickup in Aberdeen, 07747. Can bring to Livingston if we can work out a time, 1. SOLD - Yellow candy hogfish - got this from brokereefer, too aggressive and my tank (3") just not big enough. Asking what I paid for $30. Currently in my sump...

Looking for a DIY overflow box idea?

You can just drill a hole for return. The flow will be minimum so not much noise at all. The problem is in the drilling. I have drilled many tanks but have failed to drill a 10g. Once I succeeded but the glass cracked when tightening the bulkhead. A standard 20g is much easier if you have the...

    Bonsai Reef

I have not siphoned yet. I will give it a few more days and see how it does. At the same time will blow it off as they appear. No. There is a NO3 surplus. I have been dosing phosphate though at a rate of about 0.04 ppm. This tank is weird. My past tanks always used up nitrate first.
