Folks, if you've recently upgraded or renewed your annual club membership but it's still not active, please reach out to the BOD or a moderator. The PayPal system has a slight bug which it doesn't allow it to activate the account on it's own.
George, as others have said, I think you are over-thinking this.
I don't think it really matters where the alk and calc enter your system. Realize the pumps are 1.1 ml per minute.....it is entering as drops, and dissipates very quickly. As long as you have some movement, you're good to go...
Kevin, it's half inch plexi that I first cut a kerf (slot), using my radial arm saw that snugly fits the tubing, and then cut into a circle using a hole saw. These were originally made to fit into the mouth of a one gallon Ocean Spray juice jug. I no longer use these jugs, having switched...
For my JBJ 28 I'm using a cereal container from Walmart. What I like about it is the wide opening in the top to make water additions very easy. This one is only two gallons, but still check out the other plastic containers they have....loads of all different sizes.
Bill, nicely done! I'd go with a couple water lilies and some colorful frogs for that swamp to satisfy the wife.
My advice, if that doesn't work, dump the wife and go salt! :o
Welcome back Bill.
You could always take a break and visit Harold's Deli.....maybe a half mile away....with three of your friends....and share a pastromi or corned beef sandwich. Even with the four of you sharing one sandwich, you'll still have leftovers.
Praveen, don't you have the option of moving and settling into your new place leaving the tank behind. Once you're settled in, make plently of water and go move the tank and residents.
The only thing I know is within the few posts above. So are the only fish subject to limits the ones listed above? If so, the clownfish are succesfully tank bred....will this ban impact tank raised fish as well? I'm a little disappointed that they are not banning the damsels....those...
The other question is....When do their patents expire? Generally speaking, patents are only good for between 17 - 21 years. Once they expire....watch out for the Chinese knock-offs. Although as I typed this, China never paid attention to our patents anyway???
FYI, you can use the newspaper dry to polish your glass. It is a little trick that folks have known for over 100 years. Common in cleaning and polishing your auto glass. The way it works is that newspaper is a paper without fillers (such as clay), so it wipes clean. The second little...
Here's my two cents......unless the points system is expanded, I think I'd prefer the more subjective way R2R does it. Here is my reasoning: With the current suggested point system, I could see a couple members racking up the points with wishy-washy responses. (I appologize, but I'm not...
Kevin, I think this is an excellent idea.
Also, Ed's comment was bringing up a major issue before you became a member. The open "For Sale" forum was a nightmare and impossible to moderate. Having lived through it as a moderator, I immediately saw the humor he was trying to add, but still...
I don't care for man fidging and manipulating genetics of any species. It's an abomination what they have done with the dog breeds. The inbreeding has created a veterinarian's cash cow, and dogs that suffer from multiple complications.
Give me what nature made and I'm happy.
