You could also get flat worm exit from salifert and just nuke your whole tank. Will save you the time of dipping every coral.

For a short term solution get Coral Revive, will kill the red bugs on the coral itself. I know this won't wipe out the problem but it will probably keep your corals alive if you can't get it quickly.

Were your light on or off when you were looking in? Most (if not all) corals extend their polyps at night to feed (less predators). My chalice has like 4 inch sweeper tentacles that only come out at night.

You should have no problem doing that. The new LED fixtures are actually adding storm and cloud features that purposely leave the lights off for periods of time. We have left our tank lights off for a day if we were out of town and have not lost anything.

Looks like a peppermint to me, just goes to show that animal behavior has no absolutes in this hobby.

I believe you should be fine for a week, just run a powerhead in there and watch the water and test the salinity. Watch for anything forming on top of the water or in it. You should be fine.
