it might work, my concern would be that if some some reason that filter were to break siphon, it may be an issue(like for example in a power outage) . are you considering doing a larger tank at some point? that butterfly is going to get big

it'll look nice n clean with the pvc tubing. just get a bunch of unions n a check valve to be on the safe side

how does the Ice Cap work? do you plug the gyre into it directly and plug in the Ice Cap? does the IC stay on "idle" until the power goes out?

i agree, you'll be fine with just using the one kessil puck, being that your not looking to go SPS dominant, that should be plenty of light IMO im running the 1 pendant and i am getting plenty of light....also know that i have this thing dialed down to about 20-30% intensity
